Since December 2020, Anika Development Agency (ADA) has been running Access Radio 88.8 FM Yei as a flagship initiative under its Communication for Development (C4D) programme.
Access Radio serves as the main media vehicle for ADA’s development programmes, including:
Agriculture and Rural Innovation
Business and Entrepreneurship Development
Communication for Development (C4D)
Education and Human Capital Development
Environment and Climate Management
Governance and Public Resource Management
Through this platform, ADA ensures that communities in Yei River County and beyond have access to trusted information, educational content and civic dialogue that drives sustainable development and strengthens local resilience.
Over the years, Access Radio has become more than a broadcasting station. It is a community hub that fosters learning, dialogue and collective action.
Reached over 200,00 listeners in Yei River County with development focused programming.
Partnered with leading organisations such as BBC Media Action, National Press Club South Sudan, AMDISS and UNESCO, amplifying impact through collaboration.
Produced hundreds of radio programmes covering topics from agriculture and entrepreneurship to governance and climate change.
Established Access Radio as a trusted local media platform, enabling community voices to shape dialogue and development priorities.
Promoted good governance, education and public accountability through civic education programmes.
In South Sudan, access to credible, community focused media is limited. Access Radio bridges this gap by informing, educating and empowering communities, making it a vital driver of development, peace and civic participation.
By connecting people with knowledge and giving them a platform to share their voices, Access Radio ensures that development is locally owned and community led.
Your support helps us keep community radio alive as a force for education, dialogue and empowerment.
Partner with ADA, sponsor radio programmes or support the Community Radio Project to amplify local voices across South Sudan.
